The Sangoma Project: A Focus on enhancing the vibrancy of Aging for Black Seniors
At the Seraphim Foundation for Aging, we understand that Black elders face unique challenges and opportunities in their golden years.
Sangoma is a term used by communities in South Africa to refer to healers… respected elders who provide perspective and treatment to address illness. Our goal with the Sangoma Project is to engage around the ways Black seniors can use information to deploy their power to assist communities they care about and are engaged with. The Sangoma Project is ongoing, and will be buttressed by other projects we will initiate to link communities. Through the Sangoma Project we hope to provide Black seniors with information connecting them to relevant resources and programs, that support independent living, health, and vibrant community engagement.
We’re here to celebrate a collective legacy while serving as a resource to assist you in accessing tools and services you can use to thrive.
